Windsor Road consultation 2 December 2021

Waltham Forest Council wants to improve the boroughs streets and public spaces for everyone, making it a better place to live, work, and travel.  Creating people-friendly streets and neighbourhoods that actively encourage walking, cycling, and using public transport is central to the principles of the 15-minute neighbourhood, a key priority in the Councils Public Service Strategy.

The Council has received requests and complaints from the local community regarding the impact of traffic in Windsor Road and the surrounding area, including Balmoral Road, Osborne Road, Buckingham Road, Brisbane Road, and Kensington Path in E10. We have also been in discussion with Leyton Orient Football Club regarding the traffic impact on stadium event days.

In February this year, we undertook a perception survey to better understand resident’s issues and concerns relating to the impact of traffic in the area. We have used the feedback from residents to help develop proposals to address these concerns. The aims of these proposals are to reduce the volume and impact of traffic using roads in the area and to help improve road safety, particularly during event days.

The purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of residents and businesses in the area to help shape our plans. Please review the plans and proposals in this document and provide us with your comments and feedback. All the feedback received will help us refine the proposals to ensure these reflect the views of the local community.
