Road traffic schemes and consultations

Road improvements are usually designed and installed as a result of:

• an accident or problem
• in response to requests from residents, or
• as part of a national policy (for example, 20mph zones)

Below is a list of current road traffic schemes and consultations. You'll also find our Traffic Management Order consultation documents on this page. You can see how and where to submit comments or objections within the attached documents.

The Council is consulting residents and businesses in the Handsworth Avenue area on the introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).

We have received requests from residents in the area who have raised concerns about ongoing difficulties finding available parking spaces. In response, the Council is proposing the introduction of permit parking controls to help manage parking demand more effectively.

The consultation document linked below includes a map of the area that is being consulted and details on how to respond to the consultation. To share your views, please complete the questionnaire enclosed, selecting only one option indicating your preference for permit parking, within the consultation document and return it to reach us before Monday 20 October 2025.
