Am I in a Controlled Parking Zone?

Controlled Parking Zone Map

Map of Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ)

The days and hours of operation shown below are the core hours for each of the listed CPZ areas. Please note some streets within these CPZ areas may have parking restrictions in place that operate at different times to these core hours. It is the responsibility of all drivers to check the parking restriction signs and road markings in place that provide details of specific restrictions before parking their vehicle.

Bank holidays

Parking Enforcement in permit parking bays will be suspended on bank holidays, however all other parking and moving traffic contraventions will be enforced as usual.

Areas with controlled parking zones

Controlled parking zones (CPZs) are streets in the borough that prioritise parking for residents, businesses and their visitors at certain times and days of the week.  The times and days when the CPZ is operating should be clearly shown by signs in the area. If you don’t show a valid permit for the CPZ you are liable to receive a penalty charge notice (PCN).

Permit Holders Only Past This Point

Some streets have signs that indicate parking is for permit holders only ‘past this point’ these streets are known as permit parking areas (PPAs). PPA signs don't restrict access onto the street, for example, to make deliveries or reach private parking areas or driveways.

Roads within a PPA may not have any additional signs or bay markings, however any vehicle parked without a valid permit can still be issued with a penalty charge notice (PCN), the entry signs are all that is needed.

See the parking permits page for information on the different types of parking permits and how to apply.

New controlled parking zones and consultations

New controlled parking zones schemes are created as funding allows and only in areas where a public consultation has been carried out and a majority of responses are in support of the proposals. Current road traffic consultations.
