Apprenticeships are real jobs with a recognised qualification and a salary. They combine practical training in a job with study.

As an apprentice, you will:

• work alongside experienced staff
• gain job-specific skills
• earn a wage and get holiday pay
• be given time for study related to your role

Duration

A minimum of 12 to 15 months, depending on the apprenticeship level

Start date

Opportunities are advertised throughout the year.

Assessment

Includes written assignments, practical assessments, tests, professional discussion, presentation and questions.

Entry requirements

• level 2 (intermediate): level 1 or GCSE grades 1 to 3 in Maths and English required
• level 3 (advanced): 5 GCSE grades 4 to 9
• levels 4 and 5 (higher): level 3 qualification
• levels 6 and 7: set by the employer and depends on the industry.

In the workplace; off the job with a training provider or further education college
