National Offer Day reception and junior

Last updated: 2 September 2024

Next review: 8 April 2025

You will receive the results of your application on 16 April 2025.  This is called National Offer Day. This is the date applicants who applied by the closing date (15 January 2025) will receive the results of their application.

If you apply online by the closing date of 15 January 2025, you will be sent an email during the evening of 16 April 2025 with the results of your application.

If you make a paper application, your offer letter will be posted on 16 April 2025 by first-class post. Any applications made after the closing date will not be responded to until after 16 April 2025.

Please remember to accept the school place offered. This can be done through your online eAdmissions account. If you make a paper application your letter will state how you can accept the school place offered.

Where we are unable to offer any of the schools listed on your application, we will allocate a place at the school nearest to your home which has an available space.

On 16 April 2025, we will provide a document on this page showing how school places are offered on national offer day.  This will show the cut-off distances for those schools which are full and will also show those schools which still have places available.  If you have received an alternative offer and decide another school which is showing available places would better meet your child’s needs, please contact the school admissions team by email: admissions@walthamforest.gov.uk as soon as possible after receiving your offer to request a change for your child’s alternative school.  Please note that we cannot guarantee a place at a particular school.

Your child’s name is automatically placed on the waiting list for any higher ranked Waltham Forest schools that we are unable to offer.

If you are not happy with the school offer received and would like to appeal for a place at your preferred school, you can find information on how to appeal the decision by visiting the school admission appeals page on our website.
