Report an odour problem

What we can help with

We are able to investigate odour problems that come from:

  • industrial
  • trade
  • business premises.

Odour problems can be hard to deal with, particularly if the smell isn't always there, or its source is unclear. In most cases, we'll ask you to complete diary sheets to help us understand how often and how long these odour issues happen for. 

If our investigation finds that the issue is serious enough to be classified as a statutory nuisance we can act. We will serve an abatement notice requiring the person responsible to try and fix the problem.

What we can't help with

We are not able to deal with smell complaints that come from residential premises.
