If you feel that a child or young person is at immediate risk of harm, call the police on 999 who can provide an immediate response.
Alternatively, you can contact your local police on 101 at any time.
Members of the public
If you don’t believe the risk requires immediate action, contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to discuss your concerns with a social worker.

The MASH social worker will aim to get as much information as possible about the child and the family. You can remain anonymous if you wish.
The telephone line is open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday only, except for bank holidays.

Professionals
If you have concerns about a child, please complete a MASH referral form. You can request either early help or statutory social work support for a family. Please return completed forms by emailing MASHrequests@walthamforest.gov.uk

Concerns about someone working with children
The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) is involved when there are concerns about an adult working or volunteering with children.
