The easiest way to manage your council tax is online with a Council Tax Connect account.
You can:
Council tax now uses an online service called Council Tax Connect. To access, you need to register for an account
1. Click the ‘Create an account button’ above and complete the registration form
a) provide your personal details, create your password and security question and click 'Next'
b) click 'Add' for the Council Tax service and click 'Next'
2. You will then receive an activation email at the email address you provided in the registration form. Click on the link in the email to complete registration. You will now be able to log in to Connect using your username and password via the ‘Login into your account’ button above.
3. After logging in, click on the 'My Services' option
4. Enter your Council Tax reference number starting with the number 4 in the Council Tax section and click 'Access Now'
5. Answer the security questions. The answers you need to provide will vary depending on the information we hold about you. It will help to have the following information to hand. You will be able to find most of this information on your latest Council Tax bill:
If you are unable to answer the security questions, please select the 'I do not have enough information to continue' option. You will then be able to request a secure PIN.
You will receive an email within 72 hours containing your PIN and instructions on how to access your online account.
6. Choose you required eBilling option, and click 'Show Details' to view your account.
If you are experiencing difficulties with creating your Connect account, you can report this by completing the query form.
If you have recently moved into the borough and do not have a Council Tax reference number, this may mean you have not registered at your property yet.
Once you register, you will be sent a Council Tax bill containing your reference number, starting with a 4. Use this number to create your online account.
4. Enter your Council Tax reference number starting with the number 4 in the Council Tax section and click 'Access Now'

If you have created your Connect account, but not received an activation email, please check your junk/trash folder. Our emails sometimes end up there.
If you have been unable to answer your security questions when setting up your Connect account and have requested a PIN instead, have you checked your junk/trash folder? Please be aware that PINs can take up to 72 hours to reach you.
You can make a payment without a Connect account.
If you used the “I forgot my username” option on our Connect login page, a reminder will only be sent if you correctly entered and confirmed the email address that you used when creating your account.
If you used the “I forgot my password” option on our Connect login page, we will only send you a reset email if you provided the correct username and security question when prompted. If an unexpected security question is displayed, please ensure that you have entered your username correctly. Your username is case sensitive.
Password reset email links expire after 24 hours.
