Young people share their voices and influence Waltham Forest Council this half-term

This week, our Voice and Influence Team have been hosting a variety of activities with young people across the borough. These children and young people include Children in Care Council & Care Leaver Champions, all of which have experience being in care in Waltham Forest.

These activities included:

  • Helping form ideas for a future fostering recruitment campaign
  • Attending young people’s interview panel,  part of recruitment of a new participation worker for the Voice and Influence Team
  • Sharing their experiences with service providers to help inform the resources they provide to young people in the future

The Voice & Influence Team work throughout the year to engage with our children and young people, making sure they can share their voices and have influence in our services and how we support them.

Lead member for Children and Young People, Cllr Alistair Strathern shared: ‘This work is vital to make sure our children and young people in care have their voices heard and are able to share their experiences in a safe and positive way. This care day, we’d like to take this time to thank all of our fantastic children and young people for giving up their time to support this work and to our brilliant foster carers who support our young people too – thank you.’
