Find an application

You can use our online planning register to search for current and past planning applications, dating back to the early 2000s.

To view an application, you do not need to log in.

The best way to search for an application is with the six-digit reference.

If you don’t have the reference, you can search by using:

  • Applicant name
  • Street name 
  • Site description which allows you to search using the description. You may find using the wildcard % assist your search, eg %1%High%Street

Select search, and your search results will appear at the bottom of the page.

To see the planning application in more detail, choose view.

The planning application will then appear in a new tab on your browser or mobile device.

If you’re having trouble using the portal, you should try a different browser.

Documents for older applications may not be available online.

Apply online form for information about historic applications and documents.

Once you’ve found the planning application you can comment on it via the portal.

Historic applications: checking permission

You can use our online planning register to check if a property was given, or denied planning permission.

This has records of planning applications and decisions attached to a property. It also contains drawings and documents, which you can download where available.

If you can’t find them on our portal, complete enquiry form.

Historic applications: condition discharged

The original planning permission may have a list of conditions requiring the applicant to submit additional information.

Check the planning register to see if these conditions have been discharged (or 'signed-off' by us)
