Hire a park, open space or park building for an event or activity

A number of parks and open spaces within Waltham Forest can be hired by members of the public and outside organisations to hold events and activities. All events, no matter what size, must first be booked through the Greenspace Hire Team and can only proceed once written permission has been received.

To hire a park or open space for an event here is our step by step guide:

  1. Please complete a green space hire form (Word file). We advise you look at our required timelines for applications (provided on the form) and please note we are unable to offer any exceptions to our hire requirements. 
  2. Read and sign a copy of our Events Guide and Booking Conditions (Word file).
  3. Send both documents to our green space hire email.
  4. Your booking is not confirmed until we have checked your paperwork and you have received a final booking confirmation from us.
  5. All bookings are provisional, until payment has been made.
  6. Payments must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance of your event/activity. Events/activities may not go ahead, if payment has not been made.
  7. You will be required to pay the following hire fees for your event or activity once your booking is confirmed.
  8. Pay for park hire

To hire a building/pavilion within Waltham Forest Parks please email direct to make your booking. Our buildings for hire are:

  1. Community Bowls Pavilion at Lloyd Park (seats 24, includes toilets and kitchen area)
  2. Winns Gallery, in the Aveling Centre at Lloyd Park
  3. The Pavilion at pavilion at Leyton Jubilee Park (includes toilets and kitchen area)

To hire the Aveling Centre Community Room at Lloyd Park (seats 30; next to play area, toilets and café; extras such as catering, occasion cakes and overhead projector available) contact Great for kids' birthday parties, meetings, or for anyone wanting to run classes, workshops, community or children's activities.

Any Friends Groups wishing to run activities in our parks, needs to complete our Friends of Parks Activity Hire Form (Word file) or our Green Space Hire Form. Further guidance information provided on the Friends of Parks Hire Form.

Wedding photos

Wedding photos are permitted to be taken free of charge in our parks, however there are certain conditions which must be adhered to.

  • No vehicles are permitted in the park other than in those with a designated parking area
  • no confetti is to be thrown
  • no high heels on the grass, please keep to the paths
  • no litter to be discarded in the park

Please email us at giving us your name and address, email, contact number, name of the park and the date and time you wish to be there. This is to avoid any clash of events or disruption to maintenance works being carried out in the park.
