Volunteering is at the heart of communities in Waltham Forest and reflects the commitment of our residents to helping one another. There are lots of opportunities for residents to get involved in volunteering.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering makes a huge difference to our communities and it could allow you to:

  • Gain confidence
  • Meet new people
  • Make a difference to your local community
  • Challenge yourself
  • Look after your mental health and take care of others
  • Spark new interests and learn new skills
  • Have fun!

You can also add volunteering experience to your CV or use it to explore a career change.

What opportunities exist?

There are a variety of volunteering opportunities in Waltham Forest to meet the interests of everyone. These include looking after vulnerable residents, improving the local environment, and helping people access the borough’s cultural events and activities.

You can register your interest and search for opportunities on our volunteering partner website.

There are also opportunities to volunteer in our parks.

Want to recruit volunteers?

Volunteers are currently supporting community groups with one-off events, service delivery and much more. Community groups can register on our volunteering partner website to access training and support to create and promote volunteering opportunities.
