Getting your Covid-19 vaccine

Covid-19 vaccinations are currently available at some local pharmacy and community clinics (see below). These clinics offer first and second doses and booster vaccinations for those eligible.

Please note there are different clinics for children and adults.

Unless it says so, you do not need to make an appointment. However, we recommend you make a booking to guarantee your vaccine.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, some timings and details may change, sometimes at the last minute. Make sure to check each clinic information before you go.

Please check this page regularly for additional clinics and pop up clinics as soon as we can confirm them.

From 5 September 2022, the autumn booster vaccination is available for eligible people. If you’re eligible, you can book an appointment through the National Booking System or visit one of our vaccine clinics below.

Which vaccine will I get?

The Covid-19 vaccines currently offered in Waltham Forest are the Pfizer vaccine, Moderna vaccine and AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.

You cannot usually choose which vaccine you have. If you book online, you'll only be offered appointments for vaccines that are suitable for you.

Most people can have any of the Covid-19 vaccines, but some people are only offered certain vaccines.

For example:

  • If you're under 18, you'll only be offered the Pfizer vaccine
  • If you're 18 or over, you'll only be offered the Moderna vaccine
  • This also applies to booster doses, which means your booster dose may be different from the vaccine you had for your first two doses

The majority of our outreach clinics currently only offer Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. If you’ve been told by your GP or other health professional that you should have the AstraZeneca vaccine for a particular health reason, please call 119 to be directed to your nearest clinic.

Boost your immunity this winter

Protect yourself and those around you with the free flu vaccine and Covid-19 booster. If you get flu and Covid-19 at the same time, research shows you're more likely to be seriously ill.

Some people may be eligible for both the flu and the Covid-19 booster vaccines. If you are offered both vaccines, it's safe to have them at the same time.

If you are not able to have both vaccines at the same time, please go ahead anyway, you can catch up with the other vaccine later.
