Following the introduction of the roadmap out of lockdown, from 12 April 2021 ceremonies are permitted to take place with the attendance number increased to a maximum of 15 with social distancing in place.

The Forest Suite at the Register office will have a capacity of 8 (the couple + 6 guests) from 12 April 2020/ 21 to June 2021

Our booking system has been temporarily closed while we prioritize postponed ceremonies and will re-open on 10th May 2021.

If you need to contact the Register Office, please be aware that we have had a high increase of ceremonies to conduct and it may take up to 7 days to respond.


If you are looking to register a birth, stillbirth or death, or to give notice to get married or enter into a civil partnership, our Register Office (RO) is at your service. We operate across three key sites, at Walthamstow and Leytonstone Libraries, and Grove Road.

The Register Office offers the following services:

You can have access to the Register Office indexes for a maximum of 6 hours. There is a fee of £18. When you've found the record you want, you can order a copy certificate.
