NRS Healthcare, a third-party organisation that provides health and care equipment to Waltham Forest Council and a wide range of local authorities across the UK, has informed us that it has experienced a cyber-attack.

At this stage, we do not know the full extent of the data breach or whether any personal data has been compromised. We are working closely with NRS Healthcare to get a clear picture of what data has been affected and what steps they are taking following this incident.

If Waltham Forest is advised that residents’ data is included in the breach, we will immediately contact both the Information Commissioner’s Office and the individual themselves. The safety and security of our residents is our top priority.

There are a range of simple steps you can take at any time to make sure that you and your loved ones are protected against fraudulent doorstep callers, phone calls, and emails – please see our website pages on keeping safe at home for advice.

We understand this update may be concerning. Anyone who is worried, either for themselves or for a family member / friend, can contact Waltham Forest by calling 020 8496 3000.
