Between 13 March to 3 April 2015, we ran a perception survey to find out what people thought of the local area and the types of improvements they would like to see. The survey was made available online and more than 6,000 surveys were hand delivered to all households in the area. In total, more than 400 people responded to share their thoughts on the area.
The feedback from this survey was used to inform the design for the scheme which was then taken to a serious of co-design workshops in June 2015, where residents were given the opportunity to respond and give us with their initial ideas and comments.
All the feedback collected during the early engagement stage were incorporated into the final design for the area which was then taken to a public consultation between 28 September 2015 and 19 October 2015.
Over 4,800 consultation documents and questionnaires were hand delivered by council officers to all addresses in the area and drop-in sessions were held on Thursday 8 October and Saturday 10 October 2015, for local people to come and ask questions about the scheme.
A total of 645 people took part in the public consultation, and you can find more information on the results to the public consultation in the PLM document located in the useful documents section below.
Based on the feedback received, several changes were made to the proposals to meet the needs of the community. Changes included adding a new crossing on Wood Street and we also chose not to progress several modal filters. You can read more about how the consultation feedback influenced the final design in the post consultation update leaflet document below.
