What is the Community Toilet Scheme?
The Community Toilet Scheme is a borough wide scheme aimed at providing clean, safe and accessible public toilets in more convenient locations for residents and visitors to the borough.
Under the scheme businesses allow members of the public to use their toilet facilities during their normal opening hours without the obligation to make a purchase. Several of the premises offer wheelchair access and baby changing facilities.
How to sign up and participate
Your business can get up to £1000 for participating in the scheme.
As a participant you must display community toilet stickers prominently on your windows at the entrances, showing what facilities are available.
You must also ensure that your facilities are kept clean, adequately stocked and easily accessible to the public throughout your opening times. All Community Toilet Scheme participants are regularly inspected to ensure they meet appropriate standards.

If you are disabled you can buy a key to allow you access to over 9,000 accessible toilets in the UK. You can buy it from Disability Rights UK online shop.
