Location and opening hours
Following a recent survey, we will be making some exciting changes to the layout of Walthamstow Library.
You told us that:
- the Children’s area was not large enough to accommodate the popular events schedule
- that the noise levels disrupted study and quiet reflection in the adult library
As a result, we will be moving the location of our Children’s library. It will now be located in the current reading area. This will provide more space for events, easy access to baby changing facilities, and some space for parking buggies.
The existing Children’s library will be furnished with comfortable new seating. It will include added charging points for your portable devices and a quiet space for study and flexible working. We will also be adding meeting pods, which can be hired for business meetings.
We will be installing new booths and seating for the café area so that you can enjoy a coffee in comfort. These works will commence on Saturday 4 March 2023 and will be completed by Saturday 1 April.
During this time, some areas will be temporarily unavailable whilst we are busy implementing the new changes to your library.
It is free to join for anyone – you do not have to be a Waltham Forest resident.
