We are Friends at Leyton Library

We Are Friends in Libraries happens every Friday at Leyton Library.
It’s a fun weekly group where older people, young children (under 5), and their parents or carers come together to listen to stories and sing songs.
There will be puppets, musical instruments, colourful scarves, and bubbles, and it’s a great chance to make new friends, both young and old!
Spending time with people of different ages can help everyone feel less lonely and more confident.
These sessions are part of the Council’s Best Start in Life programme, run by The Together Project (a charity that helps people feel happier and more connected through fun, intergenerational activities), in partnership with the library.
Would you like to join us?
- are you a family with a child under 5 who wants to make friends with older people?
- do you have an older friend or relative who might like to come along?
- are you an older person who enjoys stories and rhymes with little ones?
- do you work at a care home and want to bring some residents to meet the children?
If you said yes to any of these, book your place and come join the fun
If you haven't already, give us a follow on Libraries Facebook, Libraries Instagram and Eventbrite.
This is a Best Start in Life weekly session. When you see Curious Carina you can expect play and learning sessions that will support your child’s learning and development.
