Who we are and what we do
In February and March 2024, Waltham Forest Council delivered a Citizens’ Assembly on the Future of Neighbourhood Policing in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service. An independent partner, the Involve Foundation, guided this process. Since the Citizens’ Assembly was held, the Council has worked in partnership with the Police to implement the recommendations.
Within the Council, the implementation of the recommendations is being championed by the Neighbourhoods and Environment Directorate (NED). NED are responsible for numerous areas related to neighbourhoods, including community safety.
