Who we are and what we do

The Children and Social Work Act 2017, introduced a new duty on local authorities to provide Personal Adviser support to care leavers up to age 25. This is if they want this support. The aim of leaving care services is to support care leavers so that they can live successful independent lives.

The programme provides care leavers with responsible adults who can support young people as trusted mentors. The Council has partnered with the charity Family Action, to provide this mentoring service to care leavers in the borough.
