Trying to get a job? Our free jobs help includes job clubs to help you find vacancies, improve your CV, complete applications and practise for interviews.
If you are an unemployed Waltham Forest resident, ask us about our free job skills courses including our Passport to Work and Barts Community Works for Health programmes.
Are you 16–24 years old? You could start a new career with a paid Kickstart work placement. We also recruit and support apprentices for a wide range of roles.
Whether you want to learn how to use a computer or MS Excel for work, take up gardening, make your own clothes, or help your child with their homework, our courses and workshops can help!
Our English and maths classes are free for most residents and go up to GCSE level. If English is not your first language, practise speaking English at our free friendly English Conversation Clubs.
Many of our courses are free, or you could get up to 70 percent off, depending on your circumstances.
Some of our courses are fully online, some are in-person at one of our learning locations and others are a mix of both in-person and online learning.

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is Waltham Forest Council’s direct provider of adult education and work-based training.
We are part of the Council’s Employment, Business and Skills team. We are committed to engaging local people in lifelong learning. We work with partners to promote participation and high-quality learning and training.
We provide a range of accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities for adults and young people across the borough.
