Re-imaging Cairo Place: Cairo Road Public Realm Improvements

Have your say on the final design for public realm improvements in Cairo Road in Walthamstow.

Due to the renovation of Soho Theatre in Hoe Street, Waltham Forest Council is proposing a public realm improvement scheme in Cairo Road at the junction with Hoe Street.

An initial preliminary design was recently presented to the local community at a drop-in session in Cairo Road on 19 March 2022, which has helped to influence the final detailed design. We are now arranging a further drop-in session in August 2022, which will provide an opportunity for the local community to view the final designs, provide any comments or suggestions; and also help finalise the type of planting and landscaping that is installed.

We would also like to understand whether and what scope there is within the community to help look after any new planting in the longer term.
