The past few years have been unlike any in recent history. Now, more than ever, we need young people like you to make your voice heard so we know how best to support you. Tell us what you love and what you think needs to change. Your ideas and opinions will not only help us to improve services for young people in the Borough but can also benefit the wider Waltham Forest community.

Now in its fourth year, the Big Youth Conversation, is open to anyone

  • aged 11 to 25 years old
  • who lives, works, plays or studies in Waltham Forest.

Big Youth Conversation 2021 findings

Focus areas arising from 2021’s Big Youth Conversation were

  • Personal Safety
  • Spaces and Activities for Young People
  • Mental Health Support
  • Climate Action
  • Youth Voice and Influence

Results from the 2021 Survey can be found on our Big Youth Conversation 2021 public report

This year's survey

A group of young people from Waltham Forest joined us to comment on this year’s survey before it was launched. Their input was invaluable, and this survey reflects the feedback received.

  • The survey will take around five minutes to complete
  • Everyone who does so can go into the running to win vouchers from Love2shop.
  • This year’s Big Youth Conversation survey will remain open until 19 December 2022 at 10am

A report will then be compiled, after which we will invite interested young people to take part in focus groups on the findings.

Resources for teachers and educators

We have also created a resource pack for teachers and educators.

It includes a lesson plan, change maker profiles and communications resources.
