Turkey and Syria earthquake appeal

Published: 9 February 2023

Waltham Forest is home to many people from the area where a series of earthquakes occurred on Monday 6 February 2023.

We know many residents have family and friends in the region while others will have been shocked and moved by the images and stories coming out of Turkey and Syria since the quakes hit on Monday.

The Council is working with local community groups to support the relief efforts and we know many residents have already donated money and other essential items locally over the last few days.

Donate

If you are able, the best way to help in the coming days and weeks is by donating money. Here are fundraising pages for three charities working in the area.
