Tell us your story for World Afro Day

On Thursday 15 September it will be World Afro Day, a global day of change. To celebrate this special day, we're running a competition for children and young people as part of our Summer of Storytelling programme.

We invite children and young people to take pictures of their hair and tell us in no more than 2 sides of A4 paper:

• What does your afro hair mean to you?

•  What do you love about it?

• Why is it important to celebrate World Afro Day?

All entrants will be in with a chance of winning a £50 Afrocenchix gift bag with natural hair products and have the opportunity to showcase your photos and writing at the celebration event on Thursday 15 September.

Submit your entries to Worldafroday2022@walthamforest.gov.uk. Closing date Friday 19 August. Good luck!
