PSPO out for consultation

We're consulting on our boroughwide Public Space Protecton Order (PSPO), which gives the Council more power to tackle anti-social behaviours like problematic street drinking, aggressive begging and threatening behaviour.
Our current PSPO will expire in September and we believe there is a strong case to extend it for another three years. We are seeking the opinions of residents, businesses and visitors to the borough on this, as well as which types of anti-social behaviour people are most concerned about.
The Council believes that the additional powers available through the PSPO have enabled enforcement officers to effectively deal with the anti-social behaviors restricted or prohibited by the Order. For this reason we believe that there is a strong case for the PSPOs to be extended until 2028.
You can find out more about the PSPO and evidence showing why the council believes the PSPO should be extended in the full Consultation Document.
The consultation will remain open until the 16 June 2025.
