Our warm winter spaces have opened - and you're invited!

This week, we have launched our Winter Spaces Network. We are using 44 buildings and community venues across the borough to offer residents support and advice this winter.

The network includes three different types of spaces. Community Living Rooms are places for residents to relax or socialise in a cosy, warm space. Community Kitchens are places to come together around food - this might be enjoying a free hot snack with people from your local community or a subsidised meal at a community café. Libraries offer desk space for studying and working, Wi-Fi and PC computer use for any residents and non-residents, and daily free events for adults and children. We are working with over 30 wonderful voluntary and community organisations throughout Waltham Forest to create and promote their spaces, and I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make them a reality.

You'll find friendly spaces right across the borough, from Chingford in the north to Leytonstone in the south. Details of all our Winter Spaces are available in an online map on our website, and in libraries and other community settings throughout Waltham Forest.

If you know anyone who you think would benefit from these, please do pass on details of the support available. You can find information on our website, and see our important advice on staying safe during cold weather below.

And you can also watch this handy explainer video from Leader of the Council, Cllr Grace Williams over on YouTube.
