Olivia organises Walk the Loop in Chingford, a Community Walking and Cycling funded initiative, which engages families with young children in the health and wellbeing benefits of walking.

Together we’re proud to work with local partners and community groups so residents have opportunities to stay active, support their mental health, and find the right help when they need it.

Olivia says:

“Walk the Loop exists to engage families with young children with nature through walking, and through stopping and just taking in the world around at a slow pace or at a faster pace.

“It’s about letting your feet take you take you wherever you wish to go, and not feeling in a rush, or like you have to get from point A to point B.  It’s about capturing the beauty of the world around us, and to ignite a spark from an early age, that supports people as they grow up.

“Walk the Loop survives through its funding. Our project with Waltham Forest allows us to explore the aspects of walking that we’re interested in – focused on nature and being.

“On our walks, we often see families coming together to support one another, which is our whole purpose. It’s about celebrating how people can come together to help one another and not argue or fight but come together through walking.

“Walking is very grounding, and helps us to clear our mind, even temporarily, of our worries.”

Good health is the foundation for a good life. It brings purpose, boosts wellbeing, and helps people stay connected to their communities.

As a Borough, we are facing big challenges, from rising costs and funding pressures to inequality.  By working together, we are making a difference to the things we know matter to residents.

There are so many ways to get involved locally, if you are looking to give back or need support yourself.
