Hidden Creatives is a portrait exhibition which explores the creative diversity in the Blackhorse Lane Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ) (Link to CEZ page). For this project photographer, Andy Donohoe was tasked with exploring the different corners of the district to find creatives which demonstrated the broad mix of practices and technical backgrounds. The images have been printed in large format and have been exhibited throughout the CEZ in public places.

I studied Woven Textile Design at Loughborough University, graduating in 2012.

I like the area, I think it is already a destination for creative businesses. It is well serviced in terms of public transport, including great links into the city centre via the Victoria line.

Where I work is very important to me, having a dedicated creative space allows me to truly focus on my craft.

It takes a while for creative businesses in particular to get off the ground, many, including my own, require a lot of capital initially and it can take a while to claw that back. Protecting creative businesses, specifically making sure there are affordable studios to rent is vitally important.
