Get Active with social sports clubs in Waltham Forest

We are proud to support inclusive and community-focused ways to help residents stay active. We're proud to support our partners Better with their new venture, social sports clubs, in local leisure centres across the borough. These sessions are designed to be fun, welcoming and low pressure, making them ideal for anyone looking to move more and meet new people.

Social sports clubs are now running in Leytonstone and Walthamstow Leisure Centres, the Score Centre and the Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre.

Each two-hour session includes racket hire where relevant and is led by a qualified GLL Sports Activator who ensures the games run smoothly and everyone feels welcome. Whether you are into basketball, badminton or the fast-growing game of pickleball, there is something for all interests and abilities.

The sessions are open to anyone aged 12 and over. Better members can attend for free or for £3 depending on the session. Non-members are also welcome to join for £10. There is no need for prior experience: just come along and enjoy a relaxed and social way to stay active.

If you'd like to take part, you can book your session today through the Better UK App at the following leisure centres, under the 'junior group sessions', 'adult group sessions' and 'sports hall activities' tiles:

  • Leytonstone Leisure Centre
  • Walthamstow Leisure Centre
  • Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre
  • Score Leisure Centre
