This is part of the ‘Summer Starts Here’ offer from the council with a free programme of activities planned throughout the summer.

Beacon lighting – Thursday 2 June, 5pm to 10pm

On Thursday, there will be a Jubilee opening event in Fellowship Square. An evening of free entertainment will take place outside the Town Hall with food and drink stalls, an hourly fountain display and performances from dance companies and a local choir. The evening will culminate as darkness falls with the lighting of the Waltham Forest beacon at 9.45pm, one of hundreds of beacons that will be lit simultaneously across the country, and internationally, to mark this historic occasion.
