Last autumn, on National Poetry Day 2022, we launched our National Poetry Day Competition.

As part of our National Borough of Storytelling events, we invited all children and young people from Reception to Sixth Form or College to submit a written or typed poem of up to 150 words based on the theme of “The Environment”.

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted an entry. We received so many from across the borough, showcasing the wealth of talent among our young people.

On Saturday 25 February we gathered at Walthamstow Library to celebrate our young winners. We were joined by Cllr Alistair Strathern, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, who presented the winners with their prize and winner certificate.

Huge congratulations to the winners and thank you for participating in our National Poetry Day Competition 2022
