ALERT 28 November 2019: We are upgrading our public computers at Leyton and Leytonstone Libraries and are experiencing some technical difficulties while we do this. We are working very hard to fix this and appreciate your patience.
A Waltham Forest library card gives you access to:
- over six million books, eBooks and eAudiobooks across 170 London library branches - via the Waltham Forest Libraries website or our library app
- thousands of information resources and reference materials, including family history research tools, business and legal resources, and various newspapers, magazines and eMagazines
- free Wi-Fi and PC computer use in the borough’s eight libraries
- a range of online courses, including language lessons, driving theory test preparation and computer skills lessons
Many of our libraries host a range of free community events and activities. To keep up-to-date and get involved, please subscribe to our mailing list.
Our Libraries have rooms for hire for your event or meeting, take a look at our room hire guide.
To register for a library card or manage your existing membership, visit the Waltham Forest Libraries website.
Our library service provides assistance with the UK government’s EU Exit: ID Document Check app.
Please note: If you are looking to register a birth or death, or give notice to get married, our registrars service is now available for more hours. It's also available at two new locations in both Walthamstow and Leytonstone Libraries.
You can book your appointments online as usual where a choice of locations is now available. Our death registration service continues at Whipps Cross and you can still book ceremonies at Grove Road. Please click the appointment type you require for further details.
