The Virtual School works closely with Waltham Forest Social Services and together we promote the education achievement of the children and young people currently or previously in our care. including those who live and attend schools in other Local Authorities. Our duties are outlined in the following Statutory Guidance.
The Waltham Forest Virtual School is not a building or online school. It is a team of education professionals who work alongside schools, social workers, parents and carers to support children and young people in care, previously in care, or receiving social care support.
Our role is to help every child and young person feel supported, enjoy learning and achieve their potential. We do this by tracking progress, offering advice and guidance, and making sure the right support is in place through clear Personal Education Plans.
