Roles in virtual schools: professionals, schools and organisations

Find out how our Virtual School can provide support and guidance for children and young people in care or adopted.

For school based and other professionals, we: 

  • support and work with headteachers, safeguarding leads and designated teachers, as well as social workers and foster carers, to meet the educational and wellbeing needs of vulnerable children 
  • offer training in attachment aware, and trauma informed practice 
  • ensure schools can meet their statutory responsibilities towards the various groups of ‘vulnerable’ children within the virtual school’s remit 

Alongside the school which the child attends, we also: 

  • assess and review Personal Education Plans (PEPs) for children in care 
  • manage funding for children in care, such as the pupil premium plus
