Early years settings may be eligible to receive funding to provide additional support for your child. Early years settings should meet your child’s needs using SEN inclusion funding (SENIF) and for some children, where it is appropriate, this would require Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) funding.
This funding will be paid to Early years settings if:
- your child is entitled to a 2 year old free early education entitlement place and
- when your child is entitled to a 3 to 4 year old free early education entitlement place
Any SENIF or EHCP funding agreed will be paid according to the hours attended as part of your child’s free early education entitlement place (FEEE). This will be dependent on your child’s eligibility and if your child attends term time hours or stretched hours over 50 weeks a year.
If you choose to take up chargeable childcare hours, which are in addition to your child’s FEEE hours, you can find more information and advice that may be available to help with childcare costs.
