Who we are and what we do?

The Council has a statutory obligation to provide Semi Independent Accommodation and support services to young people in the borough and is bound by the national minimum quality standards as outlined in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010 (the Care Leavers Regulations).

The Council currently provides 16 studio flats to children in care and care experienced young people through our service provider Centrepoint Soho.

Where relevant to do so and appropriate we may process the following information about you:

We may also process the following special category data about you:

  • Criminal Records

The Council provides outcome focused services to young people placed and offer support on individually identified physical, emotional and psychological needs, addressing issues of Education, Employment and Training with agreed outcomes through individual young person’s pathway/support plan.

Once young people have gained their independence and are ready to move out, they will be supported to apply for their own flats and move into these with or without further floating support as required.

The processing and use of your personal data is underpinned by our compliance with our legal and statutory obligations, primarily under the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010 (the Care Leavers Regulations).

We will only process personal information that is appropriate and proportionate to enable us to deliver our services effectively. This is in accordance with legal obligations under the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010 (the Care Leavers Regulations).

In some instances we will request consent to conduct specific tasks.  The use of any personal information provided to us will be limited to the stated purpose.  Consent may be withdrawn at any stage by using the above contact details.

The Council will share your data with our service provider Centrepoint Soho.  Their own privacy notice may be viewed on the Centrepoint website

In line with section 9(1) of the Arrangements for the Placement of Children (General) Regulations 1991, we will retain the personal information for 75 years.
