A draft version of this document was published for consultation from July to September 2019 for residents, local businesses and other stakeholders to comment on.
Following this consultation, the Council published a Consultation Report in June 2020.
We took on board comments received and in October 2020 produced a revised version of the document, retitled Waltham Forest Local Plan (LP1) - Proposed Submission Document. Read the latest version.
This underwent a final stage of public consultation between 26 October and 14 December 2020. Responses are currently being collated for submission. A revised version will be presented to Waltham Forest Council’s Cabinet, before being submitted to the Secretary of State to undergo independent examination in public. Comments made during the public consultation will form part of the examination.
Policies in the Waltham Forest Local Plan (LP1) Proposed Submission Document, have been informed by the outcome of previous public consultations and a number of Evidence base studies. This includes Sustainability Appraisal, Habitats Regulations Assessment, Equality Impact Assessment and the Infrastructure Delivery Plan, providing an analysis of the infrastructure that is required to support planned growth, including school places and GP surgeries, open land, etc.

From September to December 2020, the Planning Policy team held 13 open public engagement sessions across the borough, six face-to-face, and seven online. During these, residents asked many important questions; officers have provided answers to points most frequently raised.
