View your business rates online

When you sign up to view your Business Rates account online, you can: 

  • check your account balance
  • view your bills
  • view payments made 
  • setup or amend a direct debit

Create your online business rates account

1. Create an online account by completing the registration form

a) fill in your personal details, create your password and security question and click 'Next'

b) click 'Add' for the Business Rates service and click 'Next'

2. We’ll then send you an activation email to the address you gave us in the form. Click on the link in the email to complete registration.  You can now log in to Connect using your username and password.

3. After logging in, click on 'My Services' screen

4. Enter your Business Rates reference number starting with the number 6 in the Business Rates section and click 'Access Now'

5. Answer the security questions. The answers you need to give will vary depending on the information we hold about you. It will help to have the following details to hand. You can find most of this on your latest Business Rates bill: 

  • Your Business Rates account number 
  • Postcode 
  • Phone number 
  • Amount of last payment made 
  • Day of month Business Rates payment due 
  • If you are paying by direct debit – your bank account number

If you cannot answer the security questions, please select the 'I do not have enough information to continue' option. You can then request a secure PIN. 

You’ll get an email within 72 hours with your PIN and instructions on how to access your online account. 

6. Choose your required eBilling option and click 'Show Details' to view your account.

I already have a Connect account and want to add Business Rates

  1. Log in to your Connect account
  2. Click on the 'My Services' button
  3. Select 'Add' for Business Rates and click 'Next'
  4. Enter your Business Rates reference number starting with the number 6 in the Business Rates section and click 'Access Now'
  5. Answer the security questions. The answers you need to give will vary depending on the information we hold about you. It will help to have the following details to hand. You can find most of this on your latest Business Rates bill:

I haven’t received my Connect activation email

If you’ve created your Connect account, but haven’t had an activation email, check your junk/trash folder. Our emails often end up there.

I haven’t received my Business Rates online PIN

If you’ve not answered your security questions when setting up your account and have requested a PIN instead, have you checked your junk/trash folder? Please be aware that PINs can take up to 72 hours to reach you.

I need to make a Business Rates payment via my Connect account

You can make a payment without a Connect account by using our online payments system.

I haven’t received my Connect username email reminder

If you used the 'I forgot my username' option on our login page, check you’ve correctly entered and confirmed your account email address.  Otherwise, we won’t be able to send you a reminder.  

I haven’t received my Connect password email reminder

When using 'I forgot my password' on our login page, we’ll send a reset email provided you correctly answered your username and security question. If an unexpected security question is shown, make sure you’ve entered your username correctly. Remember it is case sensitive. Password reset email links expire after 24 hours.

I’ve read the above guidance and still can’t access Connect
