Mbilla Arts was established in 2006 by Gambian musician Seneke Sillah and dance educator Chantelle Michaux. Their mission is to promote art forms of Africa and the diaspora with people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities as a means of developing positive health and well-being in our community and beyond.
They offer a wide range of projects, including:
- Workshops, classes and performances in traditional African drumming and dance
- Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Colombian drumming and dance
- Afrobeats dance
- African storytelling
- Drama improvisation
- Printmaking
- Mask-making
- Upcycled arts
- Children’s yoga with African drumming
