OrganicLea is a community food project based in the Lea Valley in north east London. They produce and distribute food and plants locally, and inspire and support others to do the same. OrganicLea brings people together to take action toward a more just and sustainable society.
Volunteer opportunities
OrganicLea offers general volunteer inductions as well as taster sessions.
General volunteering: We currently have 4 different opportunities for this at their Hawkwood site:
- Horticultural Assistants
- Buddies
- Box pack volunteers
- Kitchen volunteers
All general volunteering starts with an induction day. The induction starts from 10:30am to 4pm on the first Wednesday and third Friday of each month. They ask for a typical commitment of a minimum of 6 sessions after the induction, but these needn’t be every week. Please call or email to find out more.
Referral required and eligibility
Over 18 only. Referrals are accepted from GPs and social work teams for those requiring assistance on site.
