Who to contact if you have a concern?

If you have any concerns an individual is being radicalised, or becoming involved in and/or supporting extremism or terrorism, and would like some advice.

Concerns about a vulnerable child or young person

If you have a concern about a child or young person who may be vulnerable to support violent extremism, you should refer the case to the Waltham Forest Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Concerns about a vulnerable adult

If your concern is relating to a vulnerable adult, this can be reported to the Waltham Forest Safeguarding Adults team

Other organisations that offer help and support

  • ACT Early – Prevent Safeguarding Campaign: For more information about the danger’s radicalisation, how to spot the signs and protect loved ones from extremism.  If you are concerned that someone close to you is expressing extreme views or hatred ACT EARLY and call the national police Prevent advice line 0800 011 3764, in confidence, to share your concerns with their specially trained Prevent officers. The advice line is open 9am to 5pm every day. You might just save them.
  • The Anti-terror Hotline: You can report suspicious activity or behaviour in strictest confidence by calling the Anti-Terror Hotline on 0800 789 321.
  • Reporting online terrorist contentIf you come across any online material promoting terrorism or extremism you can challenge and report it anonymously.Examples of material that may be of concern include:
    • articles, images, speeches or videos that promote terrorism or encourage violence
    • content encouraging people to commit acts of terrorism
    • websites made by terrorist or extremist organisations
    • videos of terrorist attacks
