To view an application, you do not need to log in.
To search applications, select ‘search planning applications’ from the home screen. Or select search from the right side menu.
The best way to search for an application is with the 6 digit reference.
If you do not have the reference you can use the other search boxes and search via
- Applicant name
- Street name
- Site description which allows you to search using the description. You may find using the wildcard % assist your search, eg %1%High%Street
Select search and the results of your search will appear at the bottom of the page.
To view the planning application in more detail, select view.
Once you have selected view the planning application you wish to view will appear in a new tab on you browser or mobile device.
If you’re having trouble using the portal, we recommend trying a different browser.
Documents for older applications may not be available online and will need to be requested from Planning.
Once you have found the planning application you can also make a comment via the portal.
Historic applications: check if planning permission was given or denied Click to get info
To check if a property was given, or denied planning permission, you'll need to check our online planning register.
This contains records of planning applications and decisions attached to a property. It also contains drawings and documents, which you can download where available.
How do I find out if a condition has been discharged? Click to get info
The original planning permission might have a list of conditions requiring the applicant to submit additional information.
If you want to see if these conditions have been discharged (this means if they were 'signed-off' by us), please check the planning register.
Please note, if you need historic records relating to Council Tax and Business Rates, these can be found on the Valuation Office Agency website.
