Private tenant Housing Benefit payments due on 12 January 2026

Housing Benefit Customers who are paying rent to a private landlord should be informed that the scheduled BACS payments of Housing Benefit, which were due to arrive in bank accounts on Monday 12 January 2026, will now not arrive until Wednesday 14 January 2026. 

This delay is due to a system issue that is unfortunately outside of our control. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note that council tenant rent payments are not expected to be affected by this issue.
