Report dead animals

You can arrange for us to remove a dead animal from a public place or home.

Public areas

We will remove dead animals from public areas like roads, pavements, parks and open spaces.

Homes

If you want us to remove a dead animal from your home, please make sure:

  • You place it in a properly securely bag (not a carrier bag)
  • and leave it outside the front of your home, or just inside the front gate

We will not collect the dead animal if these conditions are not met.

The animal will be taken away within 24 hours of it being reported.

We don't help with

  • Bagging up dead animals
  • Collecting dead animals that are not properly bagged up
  • Removing bagged animals from other parts of a home

What happens next?

If the dead animal is a pet, we will scan it to see if it is microchipped. We will keep this information and any pet collars for some time after incineration.
