Air quality in Waltham Forest

We have delivered a wide range of initiatives and projects to improve air quality and raise awareness of the problems caused by air pollution:

• we’ve promoted walking and cycling through our Enjoy Waltham Forest programme
• we’ve extended our monitoring programme so that we have up to date information across the whole borough
• we’ve run anti-idling campaigns to encourage drivers to switch off when stationary
• we’ve installed ‘green screens’ at a number of schools in the borough

• we worked with Haringey and Groundwork London to engage with nine schools to deliver an air pollution education programme
