Walthamstow Wetlands opened to the public in October 2017. This 211-hectare site, run by Thames Water, is the largest urban wetland reserve in Europe.  It’s home to a variety of birdlife, including rare wildfowl, peregrine falcons, and several species of bats and amphibians.

There a visitor centre and café inside the Victorian Engine House.

Walthamstow Wetlands offers anglers a variety of fly fishing and course fishing reservoirs.

All anglers fishing at Walthamstow reservoirs require a valid Environment Agency rod licence. All coarse anglers must carry a landing net and an unhooking mat.
