You need to pay your rent regularly and on time. There are several ways to pay, including online, by Direct Debit or Standing Order, and in person.
Choose the option that works best for you.
Pay online
You can pay your rent online using a debit or credit card.
You’ll need your pay reference number which is on your rent statements or letters.
Set up a Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your rent automatically each month. You can choose a date that suits you.
To set up a Direct Debit:
1. Download and fill in the Direct Debit form (Word file)
2. Send it to: rents@walthamforest.gov.uk
Set up a standing order
You can also set up a standing order with your bank. This is different from a Direct Debit: you’ll need to manage changes to the amount or payment date yourself.
To set up a standing order you can:
- use your pay reference number
- use the council’s bank details from your rent letter
