Who can order keys and fobs

London Borough of Waltham Forest leaseholders with a flat in a communal block or gated premises.

London Borough of Waltham Forest tenants living in a communal block, flat or gated premises.

Fob orders are limited to 3 fobs per household.

Please ensure you order the correct item you need to access your block.  Selecting the wrong item will result in a delay in receiving the correct item and a refund.

We’re currently experiencing delays in processing new key fob orders due to our system reaching full capacity. To help free up space, we’ll begin deactivating any fobs that haven’t been used in the last six months, starting from Wednesday 15 October 2025.

To prevent your fob from being deactivated, please make sure you use it at least once every six months. If your fob does become deactivated, you will need to order and pay for a new one.

Keys and fobs price list

  • Multi lock: £27 each
  • Fobs (entrance and garage):  £16 per fob

Collection

For security reasons, we do not send the keys in the post.

The collection point for keys or fobs is the Walthamstow Library.

We will always try to provide you with a copy of your key/fob as soon as possible. However, due to issues with our systems and registering fobs, there is a delay in providing fobs to residents. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, we are working on a solution to this issue and hope to have it rectified soon.

Please note that you will need to bring two forms of ID when collecting your key/fob.

Examples of valid proof of ID:

  • Valid passport
  • Driving licence
  • Council tax bill (current year)
  • Utility bills (electricity, gas, water, home internet) dated from the last three months

Please note: If your keys/fobs are not collected within a month of you being made aware they are ready for collection, they will be disposed of. You will then need to re-order and pay for new keys/fobs.

Faulty fobs

If your fob isn't working, please call 0208 496 3000 and select Housing to report it. We will arrange a repair or replacement.
