Alcohol misuse means drinking in excess and unsafely.
It has the highest risk factor for death, ill-health, and disability among 15 to 49 year-olds in the UK, and the 5th biggest risk factor across all ages.
In Waltham Forest, there were 307 deaths related to alcohol between 2013 and 2023, comparable with the London rate of 322 and below the England rate of 378.
